A very old and RARE Spanish Colonial forged knife. Transitional shape and design. It may have been made in Mexico or New Mexico, hard to say. It dates to circa 1750-1800. This Belduque was recently found in Old Mexico, in the desert of Casas Grandes, Chihuahua at the Hacienda de San Diego formerly owned by Don Luis Terrazas. The Belduque is approximately 14 inches long. Blade is 10 inches long. The handle is 4 inches long. Highly detailed engravings on both sides, although one side is much better. Knife is solid & heavy. As this is a most collectible knife for serious collectors and museums, we will send additional detailed photographs at your request. $2,500. We will consider all serious offers. The Belduque is here in El Paso, Texas. The Belduque is available for inspection by appointment only as this knife is being kept in a safety deposit box.
