First, let it be emphasized that knife throwing is a sport that can be likened to darts. Knife throwing will come later after you would know where to throw the knife. Basically, the goal of every game is to hit a target from a distance using the knife. Usually, affordable pocket knives are used for this because they are light and are easy to handle. Unlike big knives like large folding knives, bolo knife or large survival knives, these types are heavy and not meant for throwing. Through the right techniques, stance, distance, force, and a lot of practice, you can participate in this sport like a pro.
Do the right stance to maintain the balance and foundation. Place your right foot two feet away from back of your left foot and forming a 45-degree angle. Bend your knees a little as you try to launch.

Prepare to let go of the knife by swinging your hand from the back of your head until it almost touches your ear and your elbow is pointing at the aim. As your hand moves forward, let go of the discount pocket knife as immediately as a snap. Remember that upon doing this, let the hands and fingers do the snapping and not your wrist.
But before the actual or even trying throwing a knife, be very sure to do some warm up exercises especially if it would be your first time to do such activity. You don’t want to snap a joint or a vein in your wrist, don’t you? So, do a little bit of stretching of your arms, hands, and fingers to prepare them for your arm movements.
And while enjoying the art of knife throwing, do not forget that you are handling knives and they aren’t very friendly. If you would want to practice still, do it in the right place and under the supervision of someone who knows better. If you wouldn’t be careful enough, you can cut or wound somebody or even your self.
